your profile

what your profile shows, how to customize it, and how others see you.

your profile is your public identity on the site.

what others see

your profile page shows your username, avatar, bio, and recent activity. anyone can view a public profile, whether or not they have an account. your posts, replies, and blog entries are visible here by default.

customizing your profile

edit your profile from the settings page. you can set a display name, bio, avatar, and banner image. your display name is separate from your username: the username is how you log in and how others mention you; the display name is just how your name appears on the page.

followers and following

you can follow other members to keep up with their activity. following someone does not automatically change your feed; it's mainly a way to track people you find interesting and see who is part of whose network.

activity

the activity tab shows a chronological record of a member's recent posts and replies across all subs. it's useful for getting a sense of who someone is and how they participate before you follow them or engage with them.
