blogs

how blogs work, how to write and publish blog posts, and how to manage your blog.

every member gets a personal blog. it is separate from sub posts and is your own space to write longer-form content.

blog vs sub posts

sub posts are community content: they live in a sub, follow that sub's rules, and are surfaced in feeds. blog posts belong to you: they live on your profile and are not tied to any sub. use blog posts for personal writing, longer essays, or anything that doesn't fit neatly into a sub.

writing a blog post

go to your profile, click the blog tab, then use the new post button. blog posts support the same formatting as sub posts. give each post a title; that is what appears in listings and gets shared when someone links to it.

drafts

blog posts are auto-saved as drafts while you write. drafts are only visible to you. when you are ready to share, publish the post and it becomes visible on your profile.

blog settings

from the blog settings page you can set a title and description for your blog. these appear at the top of your blog listing and help visitors understand what your blog is about before they start reading.
